Cultivating a growth mindset in children encourages them to embrace challenges, view failure as a learning opportunity, and focus on effort and progress rather than innate qualities.

To support this, Emosyon Bibo® developed cards accompanied by process praise statements, aligning with Carol Dweck's emphasis on praising children's efforts and progress to nurture a growth mindset.

Instructions on using the card set:

Start by explaining the concepts of growth mindset and neuroplasticity using the separate card provided. The Values and Praise Cards can be utilized in numerous creative ways with your child. Here are some suggested methods:

1. Discuss the meaning and synonyms of each card to teach the values of a growth mindset, while also practicing recognition of both growth and fixed mindset voices. Acknowledge the emotions behind the fixed mindset voice without dismissing it, and gently introduce the growth mindset voice. Encourage your child to vocalize the growth mindset voices.

2. Select 2-3 cards that illustrate what you are proud of in each other. When offering praise, emphasize not only talents or fixed traits, but also effort, strategies, persistence, compassion, and how they handle mistakes and challenges (known as ‘process praise’).

3. On any ordinary day, express appreciation for your child’s efforts when you observe them embodying one of the values. Display a praise card to show them, or place it on your child’s bedside table or desk.
